re Tyres....I found the only way to better replicate a tire in paper, is to have more parts.
The round shape, the curved sidewalls, the concave and convex surfaces, all need more pieces to replicate.

But as the scale of the model gets smaller, this becomes more and more difficult.
Not just for the designer, but most importantly for the builder.

Many modellers are not scared away by very small parts, but not the majority.
My Saladin Tyres were large enough scale that I was able to comfortably introduce more sections to the basic structure of the tire.
But I still capped it at fewer parts to keep the model inline with my "beginner" skill design approach.

So thats my advice to make Tires more realistic...add more parts, which adds more angles and more shape to the tire.
