Chatted with a friend during last Friday night's IPMS/Orange County meeting, who was a college student in Santa Barbara back then and also ran trains on the Gorre & Daphetid. Bruce Openshaw says he remembers your name -- were you stationed at Fort Ord at that time? Bruce recalls John Allen often had operating sessions with Fort Ord personnel. He also has memories of using an odd device John built as a "momentum throttle". Does that sound familiar?
