Finished rebuilding the body, waist and legs.
Here it is, posed with the cannon and arm from the previous build. This is all held together with bluetack for photographic purposes
I made the should joints into cylinders, this is more accurate and looks IMHO a bit prettier than the original boxy Patoroch version, and shows off the detail a tad better.
The legs are more accurate, and the pistons around the lower legs are easier to fit with more detail.
The backpack is a tad more accurate, but I did re-use a lot of the original template. It needs more detailing though.
As mentioned before, I plan to make a diorama out of it, here's a very rough preview:
