I think I'm ready to start my next scratch project. Just like I announced some time ago, I'll build a HMAS Australia County-class heavy cruiser.
Scale is 1/1000.
I have not decided about the camouflage yet. I consider the appearance from Guadalcanal 1942(picture 1) or entirely gray version(picture 2). From what I know
Australia was usually painted entirely gray, Gudalcanal was probably the only exception. If anybody knows something more about paints used by Royal Australian Navy for WWII camouflages I'd be glad to learn something more.
So far, I've prepared the blueprints. They're scaled to 1/1000. I took one photo with my
Maryland so you can see how large will be
Australia. Both ships had similar lenght, 190m(although some sources state that Australia was 192m long).
Here's the full thread about my USS Maryland BB-46, if anyone's interested:

Ok, wish me luck with this HMAS Australia.

Model will be a waterline version with sea diorama.
