Life finally cut me some slack, and I was able to finish a build this week.
Today we have the Dornier Do-335 by Nobi. I've had this for a long time,
always wanted to build it, so a while back I started it.
My first change was to rescale it from 1//72 to 1/144. Next, I did alter
the colors a little, to suit what my eye sees as more accurate.
Then, I weathered the panel lines with some very light shading, and lightened
the middle of the panels.
After some research, and a thorough study of the intruction diagrams, (it is a complex design) I started in.
It originally comes with 2d struts, so I added rolled struts and retract actuators.
I also added the nose mounted machine guns, as well as a loop aerial.
As a detail I have adopted, I built up the wheels using thick card stock, then punched
out copy paper wheel hubs. To me, this gives a much neater wheel/tire appearance.
The last item added was the pitot tube on the port wing.
It is not my cleanest build, but the fingers are improving, so I do see improvement in the build quality.
So, what say we take a walk around?
And, because I like the view
Thanks for stopping in.
