Hi Elliott;

Sorry about responding after so long. Regarding Montbatten pink. Actually, there was a light and a dark version of the same color. I first stumbled across it while researching HMS Curacoa, several years ago. It's really a bizarre British color, but there is a reason for it. At sunrise and sunset when light was on it a ship painted this color was extremely difficult to see.This made the angle of approach very difficult to estimate through a submarine periscope. It also shows up in black and white photos as a very dark gray. There is pretty good evidence that USS Juneau was painted in this color just weeks before her demise. The paint was from local British stock and was applied very rapidly due to conditions off Guadalcanal.

Here is Curacoa along with some other shots of models made from materials other than card. Wiuth one exception all are scratch built.
