I don't think I've ever heard about putting engines from Russian tractors. These cars wouldn't go faster than 40km/h I guess! From what I know the more common practice was to use engines from GAZ-24 Volga. They fit much better in these yank tanks.
But the fact is that getting spare parts is a real problem there. It's funny to see a 42' Plymouth with wheels from Daewoo and mirrors from Lada. I tried to capture this in my DeSoto so that's why you can see those wheels from the pickup truck.

Hope to build more Cuban cars and trucks. My next design is already in progress. It will take me some time to do this one but it's worth.
