I just found a website that contains an image of an Altair identified as the XRO-1, although it has Army-style horizontal rudder stripes, no cheat line or "U.S. Navy" on the fuselage, and a flag on the fuselage that is not the Assistant Secretary of the Navy's flag. I think it is the Y1C-23 or the Y1C-25.
But the site includes a number of other great images, including Lindberg's Sirius (one image with Charles and Anne Morrow Lindberg in the cockpits of the early, open-cockpit version), the original Altair (Sirius fuselage with retracting undercarriage) as USAAC Y1C-25, Kingsford-Smith's Altair, and others. It's well worth a look.
