For once I was wondering when did Hobby Model get into watercraft... Then I realised I broke the sentence in the wrong place.

I can see it coming along nicely. The stern bay will be an interesting detail to look at, from what I can remember there is still quite a debate on how the bay doors actually looked like at different parts of her career.

One problem I have with kits from Japan is they never make that step towards realism... They provide the basic shape, and everything from there onwards is artistic rendering. I have yet to encounter a model that defies this observation - Maybe their plastic modelling culture has such a powerful pull, that anyone looking for a degree of realism in modelmaking wouldn't even begin to consider cardmodels. Though, I do know they have very detailed cardmodel scratchbuilders working in 1:100 sort of scales, just not as kits...
