If you are laminating a part with tabs I feel you have basic 2 choices.
Cut your laminate so it will not interfere with the use of the tabs. In other words, short of the edge of the part.
Or remove the tabs and laminate to the edge of the part. The tabs are usually there to provide a larger glue surface for the adjoining part. If your laminate is thick enough the tabs are no longer needed, the edge of the laminate will provide the extra gluing surface. If the laminate is too thin, you can easily make a tab strip and glue it to the top edge of the laminate to replace what you removed. Just ensure the strip will not interfere with any other parts.
