Got an 8lb, 3.6kg, 600+ page, railroad book in the mail
Found one on Amazon for about $32 including shipping, for sale by Friends of the San Francisco Library. That sure beats list price when you are trying to finance life on Social Security Disability which is $11 a month below the HHS poverty level for a single person household.
Been wanting a copy for a couple decades - waiting 20 years got a substantially reduced price!
But now my health is an even bigger mess than it was that 20 years ago and I can't build as much as I used to.
Oh well, I finally have the book to enjoy.
And later today am taking it along to enjoy while a friend with MS is at physical therapy - I'm doing the driving.
Will bet a good chunk of that 8 pound weight comes from the clay coated paper, it is nice and smooth and shiny, they didn't cut corners on paper quality.
