Super -Tiger vs F-8 Crusader what if ?
Dear All - It is intresting to compare between the two.From a pure performance aspect the Super has the performance edge - mach 2.05 vs 1.75 mach , Climb 30K + feet per min vs 21K feet per min. But the Crusader was choosen by the NAVY and the Super tiger was a private venture of Grumman. Therefore despite some early issues the Crusader started to get into service and more versions came into NAVY and MARINES squadrons.
What if the Navy was getting Super tigers instead of F-8 Crusader no one can predict
but according to what is known it wouldn't
fare any worse then the Crusader.
Regarding the F-104 Starfighter the Grumman Super tiger could do this
work with a much lower accident rate and a more suitable plane
