Yeah, Neil was a big car fan. He wrote the lyrics to the song “Red Barchetta” (Moving Pictures-1981) based on R. Foster’s “A Nice Morning Drive” (Road & Track, Nov ‘73). Neil’s version of the story replaces Richard’s MG Roadster with the Ferrari 166MM Barchetta.
He also loved touring on his 1200GS (the central activity while dealing with his loss in Ghost Rider) and would ride between venues while Geddy & Alex took the road coach. One of my favorite Neil stories is The Drummer, the Private Eye, and Me:
