MD 454 Mystere IV vs F-86F Sabre

The F-86 Sabre is considered one of best american fighters shooting down more than 800 Korean mig 15's while loosing less than 100 - a kill ratio of 1: 8 ! This high ratio was achieved
due to the better experience of the american pilots that many of them were WW2 veterans.
The Sabre had some advantages over the mig 15 - it had slightly higher speed and could dive
faster but the mig could climb faster had higher service ceiling along with better guns of two NR 23mm and one 37mm against 6 x 0.5 machine guns of the Sabre.
The Sabre evolved from the A series to E and F models and the final H model with the J73 engine instead of the standard J47.
The mystere IIC first flew in 1951 and the mystere IV in 1952. They entered service in 1954-55
time frame or five long years after the Sabre. We can say roughly that the first F-86A can be compared with the mystere IIC and the E and F can be compared with the mystere IV A.
While some 10000 Sabres of all kinds were produced only 150 mystere IIc and 420 mystere IV
were produced or a ratio of 17 to 1. The two types fought one against the other in the Indo-Pakistani war of 1965 .
