Music Wire Sizes and Sources

If I may go back to Isaac's Post #16 (http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/713292-post16.html), have you, Isaac, or anyone, ever figured out which gauges of music wire are most suitable for various airplane scales?

I'm thinking around .012" (0.3mm, 30 AWG) for 1/100; 0.15" (0.38mm, 28 AWG) for 1/72 - 1/48; and .020" (0.5mm, 25 AWG) for 1/33.

As for sources, in the United States K&S Precision metals sells straight length of music wire in 0.015" and 0.02" but not 0.012 (as far as I know). Micro-Mark sells brass wire in those and other sizes, but it's too soft and the wrong color.
