Here are the F-15A & B in the markings of 5th FIS from Mint AFB, North Dakota. The 1:200 version will come later.

In October 1979 the former Air Defense Command and its Fighter Interceptor Squadrons (FIS) was integrated into the Tactical Air Command as ADTAC (Air Defense Tactical Air Command). In December 1985, ADTAC was inactivated and replaced with a newly reactivated 1st Air Force.

The 5th FIS converted from the F-106 to the F-15 in 1984 but only flew the Eagles for 4 years. It was inactivated in July 1988. Nowadays, the 5th Flying Training Squadron is part of Air Force Reserve Command and flies T-1A, T-6A and T-38 from Vance AFB, Oklahoma. It works with the active-duty 71st FTW of AETC.

The other F-15A/B units of ADTAC didn't last much longer. 318th FIS disbanded in December 1989 and 48th FIS in 1991. They had lost their colorful tails by 1988, replaced with the tail codes LY (48th FIS) and TC (318th FIS). The 48th Flying Training Squadron now flies the T-1A Jayhawk from Colombus, Mississippi and is part of AETC. The 318th hasn't been revived.

The 57th FIS (based in Iceland) had a slightly different fate, getting F-15C/Ds instead of F-15A/Bs in 1985 and the IS tail code. It lasted until 1995.
