Most of the pages on the vintage models from Familie-Journal or Imagerie D'Epinal have a strong brown color cast. Here is an example of what a page looks like before and after I clean it up. The before was downloaded using the original size option.
I trim the page then remove the color cast using manual color correction. I then adjust the color balance by moving the color toward the warmer or cooler end of the spectrum. After that I adjust the color saturation and contrast. I play with the adjustments until things look OK to me.
I do use the eraser tool on the background to remove some discoloration even though the cleaned up page above shows some. I reduced the size of the picture that is posted so it would not display humongously and it introduced some discoloration. The actual finished page looks better.
