I am using Rhinoceros for modeling, it is surface modeler.
My procedure started by making hull as one smooth surface based on the available plans. It serve as help surface. Then I made topmost plank with aditional help of ribs shape. Then I projected lower edge of the pank to smooth surface, offset it by plank overlaping and with help of ribs shape made second plank and so on all the way to the bottom. Then I finetune the planks where needed.
