Finishing Buzz's left arm

Dear all

So I have now done the third layer of Buzz's left arm

Life-Size Buzz and Neil (enlarged 1/4 Ken West "Apollo Astronauts on the Moon")-sdc14196.jpg

It does surprise me how much paper that strengthening strips take up, so I have been doing a little experiment. The parts are printed on A3 sheets of paper and once the parts on the sheet are cut out I have been using the remainder to out strengthening strips.

In the photo below the green mat is A3 in size and in the bottom LH corner is typically what is left (ie thrown away) after the parts and strengthening strips have been cut out from the A3 sheet

So doing this for a number of sheets and then a little calculation shows on average 93% of each A3 sheet of paper forms part of the model (of course most of it not visible). I would have never have guessed it was anywhere this high at the outset.

Regards

Kevin
