Het enige logische wat ik kan bedenken is dat het gaat om verschillende type kasten. Vergelijk bv de tekening van het voorschip van de De Ruyter met de tekening van het voorschip van de Tromp (tekening 3575). Beide tekeningen zijn in het zelfde tijdvak gemaakt.
In het geval van de Tromp wordt aangegeven om hoeveel kasten het gaat en of deze groot of klein zijn.
In het geval van de De Ruyter vermoed ik dus dat 1 staat voor een kleine of smalle kast en 2 voor een grote of brede kast. De locatie van type 1 (in de meeste gevallen tegen de scheepswand of tegen het gangpad aan) versterkt mijn vermoeden, maar goed, zeker weten doen we het pas als we een foto hebben....

In the case of the Tromp, it is indicated how many cabinets are involved and whether they are large or small.
In the case of the De Ruyter I suspect that 1 stands for a small or narrow case and 2 for a large or wide case. The location of type 1 (in most cases against the ship's wall or against the gangway) reinforces my suspicion, but well, we'll only know for sure when we have a photo....
