[Copypasta] 1:300 Chinese Navy Transport Vessel 071 "Kunlunshan"

:o"Oh, so China actually has a navy..."

Though China does now possess a competitive naval arsenal, I believe papermodels in this area are essentially nil. [oops... same goes for all modern navies...:p] Until that is, someone came along and went through all the trouble designing one.

The ship, 071 Kunlunshan [or Mt. Kunlun] is an "amphibious transport dock" (whatever that means) and was launched in 2006. The ship has a displacement of 18000+ tons and is over 200 metres in length, able to sail at 22 knots.

The model itself was designed and built by Greenwan using Rhinoceros, with what little reference that are available. I will not go into details as pictures speak for themselves. (Do take note of the professional Halinski style instructions!)

Afterword: I'm not sure what happens to the model files, or whether they will be released or not. I have contact with the author but now might not be the best time to ask. Anyway the author is now designing another ship along this line, and a top-notch builder from the same forum is building it this time. --See if you can find the thread among the squiggly squares :D I will report upon this one when it's done
