U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656/ 1:800

I started this project in february this year, when "D-Whale" sent me some modified texture-files to use with the "nothing"-Voyager model you can download here at papermodelers. It looked better than before, grey instead of blue, but I just could not resist changing it more... and more... and more. When I was finished, in july, absolutely nothing wasnīt changed... If you are interested, you can find all texture-pictures at Kartonbau.de - Alles rund um's Kartonmodell... | Bauberichte | Project Voyager: Texture 3.0 ...
In addition to texture changes I added more details, too, as separated escape-pod-hatches and phasers in 3D, I made both the deflectors and the bridge top less angularly and I opened the shuttlebay with a little Delta flyer coming out.
And now itīs time to build the model...

Since the model consists of 7 separated elements, it doesnīt matter where to start. I decided to begin with the 2. hull.

Finishing the 2. hull - so far...

Wasnīt sure it would work to attach the deflector part to the rest of the hull - lots of tension between the to parts made it difficult. But it went well... (...enough for me). By the way: the length of the whole part is app. 20 cm.
Now I have to decide what to do next. May be I continue with the "neck" and the shuttlebay...

The model will be about 43 cm long, 17 cm wide and 8 cm high. I still have no idea where to store it after itīs done...

Christine,

You are doing a fantastic job on this model. I like the amount of detail that you are putting into it. Keep up the good work.
As for finding a place to put it, I am curtain that you will find a good place for it.

"Neck" and Shuttlebay

Another smaller section of the starship.
More about the part with the red "X" soon...

Open Shuttlebay

Love it to add this little extra parts!

And I found a construction fault: when I constructed the inner shuttlebay, I separated it from the rest of the ship in Metaseq and missed two little triangles in the process. Itīs no problem for the model, you canīt nearly see the part, anyway, but I corrected it, of course, since itīs very irritating while building the model.

Inside the shuttlebay

In any case: itīs dark there inside... so you donīt see so much of the details.
Before you add the little colums, itīs necessary to bring the floor in place and than place the colums on the floor.
The roof lights (the dark grey square with the two white stripes) need to be placed close to the back-wall (this part is a bit shorter than the depth of the roof).

I surely will have a problem later with an ugly space between the floor of the shuttlebay and the landing threshold outside the shuttlebay, because of the inner and outer door glued together in 190g paper. But I am sure there will be a solution, later...
