I started work on this some more this morning and I can see that I'm going to have to make some simple modifications, and will make a couple of others, just to strengthen the whole assembly, not so much out of neccesity, but out of preference. I don't know what the purists think, but since this is my model and is the first build, I used a ballpoint pen and a no2 pencil to crease the parts and highlight the fold lines that didn't show up very well on the cradstock, at least not as far as the pictures go. I'm going to be spray painting this with primer grey enamel. I want to stiffen it up as much as possible to hold the wirght of the lights, I've also got to come up with a frame for the transparencies. I've already started working on a textured version of this which will be released with the untextured version and the graphics. Finally, I made the graphics for letter size in pdf format to make it easier for others to make their own lighted version. It's a warm sunny day today and I've got a lot of work to do, so I doubt that this will get finished today. Still, I've only got a few hours into this at tis point and only started on it yesterday morning. All in all, I think I've made good progress.

More progress shots, narrative to follow later.... Funny, I had some fool come into my facebook account and threaten me yet again and tell me that I never finished a project.... I look back over the last couple of years worth of work and I have to laugh at that statement. I've uploaded dozens of models, finished several card models and reworked others, not to mention all of the models, bases, graphics, brass etch, electronics, decals, and so on that I've completed in the last running year in the resin styrene community. I'm just astounded at how people believe what they want to believe and don't look at the facts. I could show dozens of movies of completed models and show all of my work in the last year and they would still prefer to live in denile and I'm not talking about the river in Egypt. LOL!

Actually, I thought of that, they are going to be cut from .040 styrene and painted different colors, just like the old 3 1/4 floppy disks.

i think that is it great that you are making props.
that could be a dvd player-[screen disassembled and placed]
and then just run on loop of screen shots and favorite scenes on a burned disc!

Once it's done and cleaned up, I thought of putting a green screen on it and using it as an actual prop.

That's great, looks like it came right out of a screen capture.
