@ sagittarius: 200 mpi is fine by me. @ David / imcold: I am just in the process getting the mental picture of the fuselage structure: Parts 6 and 7: Do they have to be reinforced like the rest of the structure of the rear part of the fuselage? Enlarging the model from 1/48 to 1/33 means to me I have to use some stronger paper. I guess the material for 1/48 is 160 grams per square meter, so I use 200 grams per square meter for the one in 1/33. Right?

That is exactkly what I would do - If you use 200 grams paper, it shoul do the job. For the inner construction just make it double ...

Thank you! So I will double parts 6 and 7, glueing them with CA glue to add some stiffness.
Sorry, no pictures of the buid here: One of the competition rules is only to publish the building report on kartonist.de If oyu are interested, please go there and search for the keyword X-Wing, there should be only one report about it at the moment. ATM there is just some lengthy german text, though...

Yes you can reinforce them, but they're not vital structural parts so it's not so important.

I put them in their places, but I added some angled glue tabs along the long edges of parts 6 and 7 to prevent warping. Looks alright.
But thereīs another question: In your building instructions you show 3 parts F10 to place atop of part F8. On the sheet there are 4 parts. Any special reason for this?

Well, I used it nevertheless. Fuselage is almost finished. BTW: The german building report can be found here: Kartonist.de | Bauberichte Kartonmodell des Jahres 2015 | [KM 2015] X-Wing von Imcold, 1:33
I am full of admiration for this model: Parts fit beautifully and those textures are in a class of their own.
I am looking forward to building the other X-Wing (already printed) which will receive some additional detailing.
At almost 15 inches fuselage length in 1:33 this is no small model, but it definitely Looks and feels right!

Nice work so far, keep it up! I think I'm going to build one more, my prototype took some heavy damage over time and it's not worth displaying.

@ DNALOR: Itīs woth it. Building this kit is a pleasure.

@ David aka imcold:
I am going to build the wings next. According to the pictures on the download page it looks like the parts of the wing structure are meant to be reinforced with some stronger cardboard stuff, right?
In the PDF file with the building instructions, could it be you misnamed the parts WF3 as WF5? Not bad, I just noticed.
