Texturing nearly complete. There are a few minor pieces still to do I need to balance the tone on the legs with that of the hull as well, but it's nearly unfolding time.

Very nice. Will you release this as a pdf when it's ready? I would love to build this!

Yes, either as a PDF or a PDO. My original intention was as a PDF, but I'm leaning towards PDO because, whilst the mesh is unsecured, it will allow me to include some texture variations including a blank for folks to texture themselves and also will allow for variations in scale. It also means I won't have to draw up instructions which are tedious and take as long as making the model itself.

maybe I'll do a PDF for folk who aren't comfortable using the Pepakura viewer.

As for the cabin interior, no intention to do that right now, but I might consider it for a later mod.

Okay, minor update. I've balanced the values on the legs with the hull and added some highlights to the underside and a few other minor things.
Now featuring alternative Mace Windu, Ryloth markings as well.

Things to do:

Possibly add a few more physical details such as bevelling the knee and ankle joints.
Possibly detail the interior of the cabin as an option.
Add opposite sides to the hull where it hangs down at the sides. At present it would just be plain white paper.

Blast. It looks like this project has hit a brick wall again. I need the high res version of Pepakura and I really can't afford it at the moment and my existing copy of Pepakura 3 obviously downsizes the texture to 1024 which is way too low res.

I could chop it up and use multiple 1024 textures, but it'll mean remapping and retexturing from scratch.

I'll brood upon it for a little while.

Release the lowres version in the mean time and release a highres version later, if you'll have the means to?

Nah. I'll probably just break it up into seperate pieces using several textures. It might actually be a better way to work and make life a bit easier having the model broken down into several PDOs, I can simply combine them for the final releasable product. It also means that if I need to redo a part, it won't require completely unfolding from scratch every time.

You could keep the low resolution textures for now as a place holder and generate the parts into a 2D format. Take the 2D parts and build up the surface to any level you require.

It seems that you are trying to create everything with a single process.
