Main body finished

I have finished the main body. I did not have any problems with the last two sections or attaching the rear cannon section.

Great work Rhaven. A lot of work for a clean build. Do you think to paint it?

Thank you for the compliments.

I have thought about painting it, but it will be going to someone else and I will let them paint it in the scheme that they want.

There is a painted version, but with all of the mistakes and problems that it has, I found it better to make it in B&W, then paint it later.
If I ever rebuild this model, I will paint it as I go.

Wing mount/air intake

I have started on the wing mount/air intake component.
I decided to take a little creative licencing with this component to make it look a little more "realistic". Here is part of the instructions and the parts sheet to illustrate what I am talking about.

Marauder destroyer-wing-mount-air-intake.jpg
The section in the red box is what I am talking about.
Unfortunately, there is only a top and side view to the instructions.

Marauder destroyer-imag0171.jpg
I added glue tabs to parts 57 (see photo above). If you notice that there is only one non-striped part 58*
Parts 58* are suppose to be placed far into parts 57 and 59 and really would not be seen very well. So I will be changing the positions of parts 58*.

Marauder destroyer-imag0172.jpg
I have hand drawn (and added glue tabs to) parts 58* (with extra parts for internal support, because the original parts do not fit properly and I wanted to make it look a bit more realistic)

Marauder destroyer-imag0173.jpg
I have hand made frames that will go on the outside edge of parts 58* (striped panels).

Marauder destroyer-imag0174.jpg
Parts 58* finished and ready to be mounted.

Marauder destroyer-imag0175.jpg
Here I have placed the new part 58* (striped panel with frame( at the front of part 57 (as well as the interior support and the non-striped panel where I feel they need to go.)

Marauder destroyer-imag0176.jpg
I added glue strips to parts 59.

Marauder destroyer-imag0177.jpg
I attached part 59 to the rest of the assembly.
As you can see there is a slight over hang at the bottom edge. I found that i did not need the bottom glue strip, and removed it.*
Leave the lower over hang from part 59. It will attach to the main body with out any problems.

Engine sections

Here are the engine sections. Everything went together quite easily.
Here are the photos.

Here is where all of the detail (that I mentioned when I was working on the wing mounts) goes.
The only problem that I had was I looked like there were suppose to be four pieces of part 74, but there were only two. I just put one on either engine.

Just to give you an idea of just how big this thing is. My cutting mat is A3 format.

ENJOY!!!

Thank you for the kind words.

I am just leaving it B&W. The person that I am giving it to will be colouring it. This model does have quite a bit of added detail though. The only bad thing about the added detail that is on this plane is that it is not consistant. There are areas that have added detail and there are areas that have no detail.
This is a model for someone who loves to add extra detail to a model.
