color images into black and white, grey
i want to capture the spirit of bw tv shows movie in some of the models i am making, how can i change color to bw?

The way I do it is when I go to print it out I will open my printing preferences and there is usually a setting were you can print in grey scale only. I find that to be the easiest way.

Most printers have a way to print in BW if you just check in properties box....Rich

What I usually do if I want a black and white is pop it into Photoshop and use the "unsaturare" command.

Almost every graphics program has a command to change color pictures to grey scale pictures. You can then use other commands to manipuate the picture more. That allows you to view the picture before printing (if you want to print) to see if you have achieved the result you are looking for.
It is always a good habit to duplicate the orginal picture and work on the copy. That way you will have it to go back to in case of a major foul up. Once the copy looks like what you want, then Save As and give it a unique filename so you don't accidently replace the original picture with the changed picture.

yes, i understand. my ms paint xp version just turns it all black and doesnt allow changes, even though there is a tool bar for that.
is photo shop free? reccomend an paper modeling paint program anyone? jim |
