You know what I did was to load the images in Photoshop and edit the templates by blocking the colored parts (like the rainbow colored band and so) with a mask and desaturated the excessive yellow from the hull material parts and left it only with a very light yellowish color that is closer to gray cause the original yellow feels to me way too excessive.
Then I converted the whole thing to a single PDF. I always convert all my downloaded models to PDF format (if they are not in PDF format already) for ease of handling. Anyway I haven't assembled it yet but I have it in a way that I like more in case I do decide to assemble it. Look at the attached images before and after I edited them. Notice that I only left them with a very slight yellow tinge that is way lighter than the original and that looks far more like gray. If any of you is interested send me a private message with an e-mail address and I'll send you my PDF. Last edited by PixelOz; 05-11-2012 at 11:35 PM. |

Look at this link of MT Mayer Studio in which many prop replicas of different sci-Fi ships are built and look at the Galactica, Star Wars and Rogers models and they look more grayish (with far less yellow) like I suppose they really are and I think that from what I gathered from the website they are pretty good at building these ships and have a lot of expertise and are probably creating them very true to the originals or at least it looks so.

It looks like you are doing a good job on the repaint.
I am looking forward to seeing your build thread on this and how it turns out. Good luck with it.
