Smile Buck Rogers Starfighter

Hey everyone!
It's been a while since I've had five minutes to post a model, so here is the amazing Buck Rogers Starfighter by Martin Saanger ( paperaviation.de) I was intimidated by the parts count, and the small size, so I put the files on a disc, and took it to Staples. I wasn't concerned with exact scale, so I had them print it out on 65lb cardstock, on 11'' x 17'' size sheets. The prints were absolutely stunning, compared to my home printer, but I laminated them for strength, as I didn't think they would be strong enough at this size... good thing! (I think it's around 1/24th scale...it looks about right with a 1/24 figure standing next to it. There's a pic of the old Monogram 1/35 kit for size comparison..) I also laminated the main fuselage formers onto cardboard, too. I can't say enough good things about this model's engineering, even with my bannana fingers and many mistakes ( hope you can't see 'em!) this thing is amazing. Thanks Martin! My all time favorite spaceship, and to think it was free! I've since printed out a couple more, at 1/32 scale, and as soon as I can I'll post pics of the Quad Starfighter by Ravenblack and Revell-fan - Thanks guys, always wanted this version, and your work is just incredible. Enjoy!
Mike

I'm a bit confused, did they laminate it at Staples or did you laminate it? And if so, what sort of lamination are you talking about (sheet, spray, posterboard, etc.)?

Excellent build. The Monogram version looks a little plain up against this one.

You did a great job on the TF. I can not see any flaws in it.

BTW, just to let you (and everyon else) know the cockpit interior and landing gear kit is now available at PA.

I am looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Very crisp! Did you laminate with spray glue? I use a strong gluestick from Scotch but alway end up with a slight curve to the parts even if I let them cure under a weight.
