gradient blending

i wanted to call this thread
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGH!
but i didnt want to see that title everyday.
here is a start of a tv series UFO shuttle body wing fuselage that i cannot blend the burnt burgundy into the red properly.
even printing it out there is probably no hope of a good blend.
anyone help me?
please?
i am getting windows 7 next week, hopefully monday.

Why not upgrade your painting program to something that has blur? Anyway, the quick result with 15pixel blur (Gimp) attached.

There are alternatives... get Paint.net for example, if Gimp scares you. Better look into the software section.

it seems that i just dont know enough about gimp to start with, i need a basic tutorial to study.
