New UHU02 model!

Finally a decent model of one of the most iconic sci-fi movie props ever - The Monolith from 2001 Space Odessey. And what's best it's an UHU02 model that virtually anybody can build. Be sure to download the instruction photo though otherwise you might end up wondering what to do with the two extra strips that come with this one piece model. I scaled mine half to it's original size (I know I'm a thrill seeker) and it's buildable in that scale too. Mine is about 1/50 I think but do your own maths carefully because I'm known to have troubles with model scales.

Get your's while you can - you all know where from and how.

Happy modeling everybody,

BR Tappi

Wink Small update

I think the best way to enjoy great paper model desings is to build them. The Monolith is presented at UHU's site mimiking the movie scene where the apes dance around the monolith but this time the performers are from his other model 'The Seven Skeleton Warriors'. I liked that and started the build. Saddly I broke the tip of my only #11 blade and I don't have no refill. I got only 1 1/2 skeletons cut. I have to with only one for now. I fabricated a shephers stick to go with it and my daughter named him 'The Shepherd of Black Sheep'. Quite funny I think. I built it half the size of the original as I did the monolith. I must warn that some parts are difficult at this scale (the skull mostly) - and maybe it's better to build these as intended.

Happy modeling everybody,

BR Tappi

PS Two Uhu related builds in one day - way to go me! To those who still are intimitated by the complexity of UHU's models there is an alternate way to enjoy UHU models. Go here and pick your choice.

I see the model does not contain any information other than the name "Monolith"
I guess he's not too worried about pirating this one?

LOL I wonder if that means we can share this one? hahahahahaaha oh I kill me

I would never have thought of starting a thread about a box. The whole thing totally escapes me. I guess there are some things that appeal to the masses, but really.... A thread about a box?

Well it seems to collect audience doesn't it Neptune. But it's not that much about the start but the outcome I'm moving towards. I have few more cuts to make until I'm done.
