Wouldn't everything on the deck bolted down or not all just get suck right into the turbines?

Gads, I think I've found my new home away from home. I love that ship, and I haven't even seen it in action yet!

I believe the concept came from Jules Verne in "master of the world " it might work if made of liftwood, powered by cavorite and captained by James Kirk.
The utter improbability is beside the point. I gotta get me one of those.... |

Well, I saw the movie and as implausible comic book things go, it fit right in with everything else in The Avengers. I did think having the rotor sections waterlogged when afloat added to the cumbersomeness off the thing, though. Anyway, in an airborne carrier, it's always handy to have a repair tech with rocket feet.

Digital Navy has some historical Battleships.
As near as I can tell, there are no models of any type of any of the helicarrier variants. Space Battleship Yamato would be a good subject too. |

Greetings all, Let us not forget the actual flying aircraft carriers, the USS Akron and the USS Macon, pretty cutting edge stuff considering the times.
Can't imagine the size of the bahls on the pioneer aviators who would hook up such a fragile craft onto that 'tiny' yet unforgiving trapeze arrestor bar. Akron USN Aircraft--USS Macon (ZRS-5) -- Views of Her Heavier-Than-Air Group |
