Amber's Space interceptor

Another one of Amber's strange but original drawings, a Space interceptor. Iam having some difficulties given the shape, but we will see.

Thumbs up

The style in Amber's Space Interceptor reminded me of the Lexx, which I found an interesting coincidence.

It looks rather curved, as does Lexx itself.

I'm watching with much interest as this vessel of Amber's evolves.

Kind and Respectful Regards Corey my friend, Uyraell.

That is a nice organic looking design. A bug invasion.

This would be a good time to talk geometry with Amber. Developable surfaces for flat, sheet stock material (cardstock, plywood, etc.) are conics sections or flat. To work within the limits of the material requires some consideration in her design - moving from art to engineering (for an example look up the history of the construction of the famous Sydney Opera House). A sphere or any other surface with curvature in more than one direction is not developable and must be approximated.

A very interesting series - I encourage her (and you) keep on it!

And very talented. For the last four years I was almost married to an artist, well she was a art therapist, but an artist none the less. It never ceased to amaze me how they bring these image alive from a featureless surface.
But that is over now, I may not miss her but I do miss the instant access to free original art.
