War of the Worlds Martian Tripod.
Hi all,
I've been working this one for some time, the idea is to build the Tripod destroying part of the city and made this one as a vignette. The pattern is made by speculating the size (height of the Tripod which is relative due to it seems flexible legs), anyway I dubbed this as 1/700 scale model. Using reference picture from internet and the movie itself, I also refer to the design from tripod model kit (Pegasus): CultTVman's Fantastic Modeling - News from Pegasus Hobbies: War of the Worlds Tripod I haven't found other way to make the legs but using a wire (the one covered by plastic). |

First build, legs attached. And I paired it with my 1/700 submarines model.

Nice. A little more detail and it will be an awesome model. Maybe I should sit down and sketch out a model and build it from scratch..... I think I'll start with the art of Amorman and build a shadowbox... Yeah.

thanks, Neptune. I add some mechanical 'hand' and tentacles (will post the pic soon).
still I'm not sure what to do to make the leg realistic, especially the 3 fingers that support one leg. I'm looking forward for your version of Tripod :D please do built it. |

You're doing a fine job, the experimenting is all part of the process. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I think you've done a great job bringing these 2-D pictures to 3-D life. I also liked your photos of it with the submarines....nice touch. Keep up the good work.
