i jsut realized yer looking pretty beefy there dude.
are you lifting? a surfer?
i surfed in brookings on a huge day down at the lefts, but thats as far north as i made it. i heard right where you turn inland towards eugene that there is a river mouth that is huge and peels lefts and rights.
so i bet you feel like kong, leaving your jungle home to be with the girl you love in the hostile world of oregon!

The story is not over till it is a happy ending .

i can understand that.
a different kind of kong sotry for me, but th esame thing, defending the girl i loved, getting shot up, having to leave the life i knew for the hostility of the world of drug dealing she was finally convinced to leave. etc......i guess everyone has some kind of kong story. did you check out my kong-4 paper model on the spaceagent-9 projects thread?
i am going to do at least two more redraws on it.
if i only knew how to print hair..................

Well we are both still here so that is something ! I love all your models that you have done the log roll one is awesome . As soon as you get these to a download I am going to get them both and build them. I think my oldest son would love it . As far as printing hair you could print it as a pattern that can be glued to the back of some faux fur then cut and applied to Kong ?

King Kong Empire State Building Model

Hi spaceagent,

Great modeling idea! You're half-way there already. Ingenious to use the Canon Papercraft gorilla model.

By the way, the aircraft used in Peter Jackson's King Kong movie is the Curtiss F8C-4 'Helldiver', which Jackson (being a fanatic WW1 airplane buff himself) had especially built for the movie in New Zealand. The top wing is painted bright yellow. Unfortunately, no original airplanes of this type exist today:

The photo above is from a magazine article. I found it in this post, #561 (by Kiwi) in this thread over at RC Groups:
The greatest airplane movie of all time is... - Page 38 - RC Groups

I'll be watching your progress on this model with great interest - thanks for sharing!
All the best,
Bengt

yes the fur idea is great, but i might as well go all the way with a posable puppet if i did that, and then my own stopgo animation movie!!!!!!!
im just making paper dioramas, its the printing that is screwing up the hair look.
i am buying the wrong ink or the settings are off or something.
i have some wicker weave that looks like hair if i stretch it in paint.
thanks again for all that!

too bad about the kong plane not being around, everyone searched for one but we only came up with a simple different one.
nice pic. maybe some plane paper enthusiest will wip one out for my diorama!
have a nice weekend.

Small and respectful suggestion.
If the Curtiss aircraft can not be obtained and used, what would be wrong with using the Boeing F3B?
That was the next aircraft used as a fighter, and though F3B is the Navy designation, the Army Air Force used the same aircraft under another designation.

At least that way the aircraft would be of the correct time period, or close-enough to it.

I have seen F3Bs available for free online, which is why I'm making this polite suggestion.

Kind and Respectful Regards, Uyraell.
