I may be mistaken, but I thought there was a set of Federation ships, some modular types included, in the Download Section here on forum, at 1:1350 scale.

Would one of those be close-enough in scale for your purposes Mchale?

Kind and Respectful Regards my friend, Uyraell.

You can always rescale another size Ent-D. There are a few Galaxy class ship paper models available, in various difficulty levels. Let's see, I had a table somewhere, let me go find it and post it here. Then you can pick one and I can help you get it to 1:1400 (that will be pretty big by the way, about 17 inches long). You'll probably have to get the model printed at a copy shop on 11x17 paper, or cut many parts in half to get them to fit on a letter sized page and glue/tape them together after...

Couldn't find the table I thought I made, but here are links to a few Enterprise -D's out there.

The first one will probably be the easiest to build and to rescale - the primary hull will need to be cut up from 2 pieces to many - 4 or 8 probably - the rest should fit elsewhere on the pages.

Paragon's is too big - 158mb - I don't think I could reasonably work with it and get it to you.

Gary Pilsworth's Enterprise is a good model that is detailed but also easy to build, and easy to work with in terms of cutting up parts for rescale.

Here's a shot of Paragon's and Gary's Ent D models next to eachother - Paragon's on the left, Gary's on the right (this is Paragon's picture):

If that works, I'll work on scaling that up for you Mike later this week. I need to scale it up to around 190% to get your 1:1400 so all the big parts will need to be cut in half.

Here you go Mike:

PaperModelers.com - Downloads - USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D 1:1450 scale

1:1450 was as large as I could fit on a letter page without cutting into the 1/4" margin around the edges I like to put in my printout pages for printers that can't handle borderless printing. Doing the math, a 1:1400 scale Ent-D would be about 17.5 x 12.5 inches, and this 1:1450 model will be 17 x 12 inches. Big either way, and the difference in scale won't be noticeable to the eye (its only about a 3% difference).

I recommend using thin paper and laminating the white support structure to heavier card. Otherwise this model might fall apart under its own weight! Good luck with the build Mike, it's going to be epic! Be sure to post up some pictures of this and the Klingon ship together!
