The external finish on the UFO in the movie varied between dull stainless steel look on the well-lit areas to very dull gunmetal grey on the shadowed areas, thereafter fading into black.
The few interior shots showed basically USN low-vis Neutral Grey (think of an F18 or F14 in low-vis light grey, then darken that light grey by about 3 shades) everywhere, apart from the control panel.

The bottom foot or so of the UFO exterior was as much a Dark Midnight Blue as it became black at floorlevel.

Beyond the colours I've given here, the UFO was relatively dull in overall finish, certainly well into "Matte" territory when compared to UFOs in earlier movies.

What made "Hangar 18" unusual for movies of its' type and screening era, was that the ship itself appeared relatively frequently in the movie, and was onscreen for reasonable lengths of time, though often in shadows or low/dim lighting.

I hope the little bit of detail as to colours helps you Jim my friend, for I certainly like what you've done thus far with the model.

Kind and Respectful Regards Jim my friend, Uyraell.
