feets/foots

Did a little on this yesterday. Main body is together, minus touch-ups. Will do that later, when I decide how I want to shade and blend. Also started putting together some feet, and can see that there's going be close to 50 of them.

Nice build, Peter. Are you going to fashion a backdrop? I'm a fan, too, but this one has to be one of the silliest monsters anyone ever designed! The only thing worse was the Attack of the Giant Leeches. Great schlock!

Thanks Charles... Have a couple of ideas for display. One is using one of the movie posters as a backdrop on a base..

Giant Leeches!! I have all these smart-ass responses in my head, but for once I'll keep what passes for humor from me suppressed.

detailing..

Started adding some of the facial features, plus some shading with oils. Also found some round headed straight pins that I painted black that will give more of a 3-d effect to the beady eyes..Will add them later.

You are a far more patient man than I. I saw those feet and walked away. The 3d eyes is a good idea.

The idea is that if I do a couple every time I go near my work bench, they'll eventually get done. Like all my brilliant and thoughtful ideas, it hasn't happen..

base..

Started on the base.. Scrap piece of Foam-Cor that I've tweaked, as I didn't want just a square. Printed out a movie poster that I like because of the red lettering. Backed with red poster board, and then glued to the edge of the base. Painting and ground cover will follow..

A test sitting to see how it might look..

Coming along great, Peter! The facial detail looks pretty good from what I can make of it. Please let us know if you find a quick and easy way to get through all those feet!

Nice choice on the base. Your display really brings back memories. Pass the popcorn. PS - I really do hope he does the crawling eye too - one of my faves from the golden age of schlocky sci fi.
