Nice job, I need to do this on a couple of the models I've made. Like the GALACTICA markings BTW... LOL!

Thank you for the compliment. Layering texture like this is one of the easiest and (IMHO) the best way to add physical detail to any model. It gives the model a more "REALISTIC" look to it.

I have finished the engine section and the exhausts.
I this that I have put as much detail into these exhausts as I can. I think that these will be the standard of which all the rest of my (BRTC25 TF) models will be based on. Here are the photos for your viewing pleasure: Here is the rear panel for the engine section. The rear panel is fully assembled. The rear panel in attached in place. Here is the exhaust. I have raised all of the panels (that I can think of) to add extra detail to the overall look. Both exhausts are finished. Engine exhausts are attached in place. Here are close up shots of the exhausts mounted in place. I am going to start on the front end next. ENJOY!!!

Nice, really, really nice.... Every little addition adds depth. I think I'll do a Serenity like this, yep.... That's what I'm going to do. I'm going to take a plain, black and white template and texture it to match the television reacer version and build it out like this... Thanks for the inspiration.

Front end and wings
Here are the front end and the wings.
As you can see, I detailed the front end as much as I could. Here are the photos: Panels around the gun barrel raised. I "stair-stepped" the layering of the "grill work" on the inner canard and raised the circles. Outer canards attached. Landing gear doors panels raised. Small panels on the under-section raised. Landing gear attached. Lower stabilizer wings attached. Vertical tails attached. Main wings attached I am going to focus on the canopy next. I have an idea for a sliding canopy that I have not tried yet. So the next update may take a little longer then expected. I (of course will post photos of the sliding mechanism and how it works.

Great looking build! Looking forward to the completed squadron!
Really like how the texture/3D look came out, do you plan to enter any of these in any IPMS competitions? Look like they will make plastic modelers drool... Mike |

Well, it is an organization of plastic modelers worldwide. They hold competitions on an annual basis.
I've tried contacting the ones here in Alaska without any luck. Here is a link that will help explain who they are and who here at PM.com can help you locate them. Just browse through the threads, hopefully that will answer your questions about them better than I can. FSPM Lounge - PaperModelers.com Your models really look good, they would hold their own against plastic for sure. Mike |
