Detailed Thunder Fighter Project
I know that it has been awhile sense my last thread, but I have been a bit busy.
After an EXPO that I had attended recently, I had given my entire Thunder Fighter squadron (with the exception of the one that I built in memory of my mother) to the children of a member of the PM club that I belong to. I am now rebuilding my entire TF squadron with cockpit interiors, landing gear, and as much detail as I possibly can. I will be posting photos of the detailed parts and explaining what all I am doing along the way. I have started with the cockpit interior. I know that some (if not most) of the detail will not be seen once the model is finished, but I am doing this for my own pleasure (and torture ) Here are the photos of what I have done so far: Here I recessed the sensor screen. I recessed the screens and raised the button panels. I recessed the screen. Raised all button panels. Added seats and some control panels. The cockpit is now finished. Here are more detailed photos. Enjoy!!!

Cool! I just started my build too!!! But since it's in roughly 1:45 scale (2 sheets in 1 A4 sheet), I won't be doing the cockpit interior...

I would like to see that! I hope that you will post a build thread. If so, I will follow that thread closely. Are you going to make the entire collection in that scale? I look forward to seeing your work.

Yeah, so far, it's been ok... cos I just started.
Anyway, have taken some pics, so will start a thread. Nah, this is going to be a gift for a friend... and also a test build for me as I want to try making it smaller... All my sci-fi spacecraft are in 1:144 scale, so I think I may have to simplify it. But who knows... I'll see if I succeed in this build first. Thanks! |

Update
Here is an update on my progress of the project.
In this set of photos, all I really did was raise a few panels to give realistic texture to the model. Here are the photos: I scored the lines on the ribbed area that is on the front end of this piece. Both halves are now attached. Cockpit interior now in place.

As you can see, I raised the textured panels and scored the vent lines. More photos to come soon.
