Help a Trek friend...

I just talked to a friend that I hadn't heard from for awhile he's a Trek friend that needs help. He wont ask for anything, but I know he's hurting. How do I help him within the community without revealing his name?

I'd tread lightly.

Strength like a bull but venture like a feather.

Being willing to help is an admirable motive, but sometimes people need a very delicate touch when given any type of assistance.

Like thokmous said, what it is that he needs assistance with pays a large part, but these days people are under great pressure and a sense of dissallusionment and sometimes can feel threatened or embarrised by the best of intentions when efforts are made to be supportive.

My best wishes on your effort...sometimes helping someone else can be as more of a challenge that fixing your own stuff! But at least you are trying.

I guess I should explain, that my best of intentions toward a peer recently were not well received. I explain, jusy to elucidate why I stressed caution.

You don't reveal his name, say it is for yourself.

Easy as that.

Unless he / she is suffering from some life threatening illness, then it might be a good idea not to say it is for you.

Thanks for all of the input guys, I'm really unsure as to what to do. This is not an attempt to ask for donations, just curious as to what my peers might come up with.
