The model is complete and if I were to build it again, I would change some of the steps taken in this build.
Overall, the model template is good, parts go pretty nicely where they should and the difficulty level is just right for a beginner like me. The most difficult part was the head and bridge section (which I didn't do too well ). Other than that, it came together quite nicely. Well, enjoy the pics and till next time, happy building! |

You have done a FANTASTIC job on this model.
I can not see any problems with anything. Everything looks GREAT. If you did not have the scale cube next to it, I would have thought that you made the regular model as is. Keep up the GREAT work!!!

Looks great, thanks for all the pics-I will use them as reference when I track this one down. I've always liked the original Galactica and would like to try them both sometime.
Thanks again, Rick |

Thanks RB, fokawe, thorst, vulcan8630 & Maverick65! You kind words are greatly appreciated!!
I am definitely a novice/beginner in paper modelling... for those who want to build this, you might want to add internal formers for some of the parts, namely the mid-section body (the one that the landing bays arms join to), and the joining blocks for the fore and aft sections (the "neck" and "hip"). You'll better appreciate it when you actually build it. I did not put formers in the mid-section and it shows... you can see some warpage of the main body - it also gave some problems with the joining of the fore and aft sections... somehow, I managed to join them properly but in retrospect, I should have put in the formers (thought about it, but forgot). In any case, it was a good learning experience and I hope to see your build(s) of this grand lady! |

Actually, I'm toying with the idea of building it even smaller (at half the size) around 1:8000 or so scale. We'll see... maybe, just maybe...
