Walking Papercraft Mech Warrior
I just finished what I would call my 5th model. It is a Walking Papercraft Mech Warrior found at Instructables.
Here is a picture of the Author's own creation used with his permission. Below are two pictures of my creation. I made a few mistakes in the process but learned some valuable lessons along the way. 1. Closed the Top too early - Need to pay better attention to the instructions 2. Crank put in the wrong direction due to mistake 1. - Again, I need to pay better attention to the instructions. 3. I assembled the 2nd Cam Follower incorrectly - See lessons learned on mistakes 1. and 2. 4. I put one of the Legs on backwards but was able to recover because I caught it before the glue had dried. - Again refer to lessons learned 1. - 3. 5. When gluing the cannon's on the side, I didn't pay attention to the width and they don't allow the main cab of the Mech to sit properly on its base. - As you may have guessed, I need to pay more attention. I blame it on being a Newbie. Overall it was a very straight forward build. Being a Newbie myself, I feel like it was an excellent model to learn on. Its Advanced enough to really enjoy the experience. I recommend it to anyone just starting out. Last edited by Peter Walker; 09-15-2012 at 10:56 PM. Reason: added information |

Congratulations! That is a model that I downloaded early in the hobby and never built. I might have to give it a go when my schedule clears a bit.

The saying as it that "we learn by our mistakes" if this is true i should be really advanced...NOT ! You are going through that learning curve, and finding your way round issues and solving them. The tips and tricks posted around our forum is an invaluable source of information for all of us, newbies and the top guns, yes even top guns find something or some other way of doing things, we are never done learning. Congrats on getting through this model - NEXT
