I've found myself looking through the old college books looking for suitable 'heavy reading' for just that purpose.

thank you for the kind words neptune.
neuropathy has been getting the better part of me last few days. have done little work on model except for making some aluminum cardstock for a future project. hope to get some more done today. if i finish up with the pressure module ill start with the core subassembly. oh yeah congrats to felix baumgartner. that was one long wild space freefall... glad he made it back to earth... man i would have gotten sick with as much of the spin as he got in free fall going supersonic... lol |

finished out the sides of the pressure module and only a few domes on the top and back are left then i can call the pressure module done.
just this one piece is really getting big... i know how big the finished thing is going to be but i still think it will be awe inspiring once completed... here are some pics of progress so far. |

1 of 28 complete... pressure chamber is done.
i can say i have completed the first module.
even though its 1/220 its still a challenge. there are some pieces i dont think i could have completed at original size, and no tabs. made it easier to make tabs on the small boxes and domes.. enjoy. |

Core is complete...
been having a rough time with the core. since i resized the model to 1/220 i planned on glueing the core to .5 mm board. didnt think much about it at the time. but... the .5mm is making it a horrid time of scoring and bending sides and tabs... and this led to alignment trueing errors.. things just didnt end up square no matter how careful i was... the answer came to me today in my brain and in the mail... lol..
recieved the stainless steel ball tip scorer today from amazon. actually forgot i ordered it... i remembered my mom use one at work when i was a kid.. its very very tiny tip artist use to score card in graphics... dont know why i didnt think about it many years before.... i replaced my ball point pen. and started to cutt of the joining tabs and used the new tool to score... made a world of difference... getting true 90 degree angles now and true cubes... this is now my favorite tool in my kit... im half torn to go back and make all ofr the core with the new assembly method... but. im lazy... its the core... and i allready sanded the warped ones mostly true... any ways core is completed and time to think about what section to start now... hopefully the hard part is out of the way... yeah right... and for those of us interested in the tool you can pick one up cheap at amazon... 2.24$ highly recommended Amazon.com: Kemper Ball Stylus Tools small ball: Arts, Crafts & Sewing now for some pics... first couple show the new assembly for tabless .5mm its very true and very strong... then the core assembly with pressure chamber and finally a comparison of the assembly in relation to my wife.... its going to be big man.... later. |

engine section part 26
going to jump right to the engine. got it printed out on 11x17. looks like
im making alot of drums.. lol thought i would knock out the detail parts first... gah it took me 5 hrs to do this one part and i have another one to go... looks pretty damn cool... it is optional for the engine you can leave it off, but im glad i did it... just go real slow with the knife and make sure that damn ruler doesnt slip on you... if you get tired and frustrated take a break and watch a movie. last thing you want is to let the knife slip after you have been working hours on it... pic follows. |

Outstanding. Take your time. You are absolutely correct in your last statement about slip ups
