I (myself) would also like to see the new Jupiter's modeled. The kiddo (she's 8) and I really liked the reboot.

Is it me (probably), but does the bridge section look a little like the 'beak' of the 'Defiant' from Deep Space 9 ?

I am not a fan of the new series but I would like to see a model of the new ship. Might do a build for a office mate who is a fan.

For the record I will always give another designer His/Her due for the work invested. If I modify something for my own builds it is only to suit my personal taste.

I can assure all of you I am more that capable of designing anything I want or need within the limits of card-stock media. I also am not a purest and will use other media for additional detail if required. It is called modeling after all.

That new J2 looks like it would be extremely simple to model, just need some good orthogonal views.

True I don't think it would be a hard design/build.

Well, I love this show, and I can't wait for season 2.
Since I have already done a model of the original J2 and Chariot...and new Chariot...
I will have to add this ship to my list.

But I'm not going to do anything complicated, and it will be small scale.
So if anyone comes up with something better...

It would be cool to have all the Jupiter 2s in your style, Dave.

I know the 90's film sucks harder than a supermasive black hole, but has anyone considered doing a paper model of the J2 from it?

Thats funny...because I thought the 90s film was FANTASTIC!

Right up to the part where they introduced that stupid Goony CGI animal.
That ruined it for me.
One of the things that was really stupid in the original series (in my opinion).
But the TV series was more geared towards kids, so I get it.
The movie was more adult, so it was an unnecessary add-on, I thought.

but yes, I loved the majority of that film and was really hoping for a sequel.

Keep in mind, I thought the original show was pathetic.
If it wasn't for a masterful Robot design, I could never have watched that farce!
I tried, and did, recently watch the entire series, but I still can't get past the low budget sets and silly story lines.

The movie J2 is quite complicated in shape.
Like the Robot!
Thats why I have never considered it.

Can't wait to see your efforts Dave. You have a distinct style.

The new series is what it is for the over the top politically correct times we live in. The first series was bad tv for bad times too. I met Mark Goddard at a meet and greet right after the release of the film. He said if they had shot the film without all the studio demanded rewrites it would have been a great film. He was not pleased with the final product at all. I liked the effects but.....as thumper said..."If you can't say something nice...".

Take it all with a grain of salt and design/build for a better tomorrow!
