Uhu02's TIE Interceptor

Well I've just started my latest build, the TIE Interceptor by Uhu02. This model might be a bit above my skill level but I do like a challenge

I'm going to try and post as many photos as I can to hopefully help anyone else who wants to attempt the model.

Here goes then with the photos of the cockpit build. This part isn't too bad but there are some small pieces and some areas which need a steady hand due to having to edge-glue the pieces together.

..and some more photos. That's the cockpit finished and now on to what may be the trickiest part of the build, the main dome

More photos in a day or so

It's looking fantastic so far.

One of these days I'll figure out the UHU Puzzle, then I'll take a shot at it.

Keep up the great work, I look forward to seeing more.

I also have this TIE waiting to be build :-)

Do you reinforce the wing mounting points with a mainframe?.
or don't you think you get droopy wings?

Thanks for the confidence, a lot depends on how the next part goes, the main dome. It might not end up being the case but it looks like it could be the trickiest to get right and look good. I'll be starting that bit tonight so fingers crossed!!

I haven't really thought that far ahead yet, I tend to only think about the part I'm working on.

Looking at Uhu02's instructions though, he has created a frame to hold the model while you attach the support arms and then the surrounding parts look like they should hold them in place ok

I do love the amount of thought Uhu02 puts into his models and the detailed instructions he provides, all for FREE!!

What density paper/card are you using? I have tended toward 120g/sq.m matt for complex shapes and and 140 to 170 for less comlex shapes. But then again I have never tackled one of Uhu's models.....yet.

Looks Good. Hope your fingers are not toooo cramped. The ball will be a real joy. I down loaded the model about 2 months ago, but my computer failed to keep the instructions. So While I am at about the same point, I have had to shelf it. I got on the Uhu02 site through 'Disney Experience' when I was making the 'Wicked Wench', but now I have not been able to make the connection as I never did have the pass words, so I will be looking foreward to your progress.
