Death Star game board

Hello All,

I've been into the Star Wars X-Wing miniatures game of late. That being said the Death Star trench run is the abasloot favorite part of the entire story for me. I had to re-create the scene inthe game. A fella on Boardgame geek has a scenerio for the run up. I found the tiles on drive through RPG's site. A lot of card, ink, foam board, gluesticks, straight pins, white glue, and clear laquer later (angry wife from smell :P ). I had my Death Star board. I ran this game twice. 1st attempt I never made it into the trench. 2nd attempt I won.........barely! Just like in the move! :D :D :D

It's been a while for me onthe boards here so I needed to show what I've been up to.

Hope you all enjoy the pix.

Just realized I took the game pix with a different camera and the files are too big. I have posted the in progress pix instead that only show 1 section of 3 that make up the board. The turrets are Moomir's models. The overall board is about 4' wide and 4.5' long. Huge!

I too have this tabletop game (and am dieing to try it out...) and I love how detailed the models are. One thing it lacks to make good use of a trench is the sidestepping move, where you can move a model a certain speed (forward) one place to the left/right of the original position.

Excellent work, looks great! And, of course, good to see you back on the board!

Lookin good! I have this game too. So far I've only managed to play it twice with the basic rules, but it was great fun. I even started in on trying to create a starfield mat to play on. Still working on that.

Great work....Also with a bit of tweaking you could make it to be a display diorama of the "Battle over the Deathstar"........I wonder if anyone has had that idea a "Paper Model Museum" where you could view paper models of all varieties....Hmmmmmmm!
