Klingon Scout Repaint

Yes, it's true. While I was unable to make contact with Conrad Mitchell, I discussed the subject at length with Jon Leslie, and he assured me that Mr. Mitchell, had he been found, would have approved of what I'm doing with his model, so I'm going forward with my rework of it.

So far, I've resized it to 300 dpi to improve the detail resolution, modified the engines to make them easier to assemble, reshaped the shuttlecraft, repainted and enhanced all of the surface details, and addressed several fit and assembly issues. I've still got a few more details to iron out, but I'm hoping to have my first complete beta build done in the next day or so.

Stay tuned...

With your example of the Roundabout make over, i believe that you are more than capable of doing nothing but enhancing Mr. Mitchell's art......

Vulcan, keep your nose out of my To-Do List! ;-)

Yes, the Flyer and the Type-9 ARE on my list, along with a couple of automotive subjects, but not until I finish this one AND the re-do of my Chaffee finished up. It's getting the same treatment as the Scout Ship.

I would like to see some pics of what you got so far, im interested in your color schemes and refits. also, what colors do you think the romulan bird of prey should have for the nacelles, and ports all over the top and front?

SA9,

I'm really not changing the colors too much, beyond the green and brown of the original, I just added darker or lighter variations of the basic colors, along with about eight shades of grey.

The biggest change I've made is the resolution, which meant enlarging the model by 270% to get it to 300 dpi, then redrawing, sharpening, and enhancing the surface detail. I'm also making some tweaks to the parts, mainly to eliminate the multi-layered assembly of parts of the original.

Yep. If you look REALLY closely, you'll see I varied the colors in it to conform it to the hull plating, too...

I kinda see that, but the small one is hard to see. but I can see the detail work on the plates, and will build yours again when I go Klingon crazy this fall.
