NCC-74656 USS Voyager [1/800]

I'm building this monstrosity for my little nephew. So far, I have done the upper hull, the neck and hangar, the stern and wings. I'm working on the engineering hull now, which doesn't want to go into shape just yet. The model is Christine's, but I edited it a bit, added outlines to the parts (way easier to cut!).

Started with the bridge:

Next, I did a number on the upper hull:

This was one of the things I changed, the phaser banks.

Both sides done.

The small phaser bank (or something like it).

Aux deflector and sensor bay:

Hull edges:

More images later.

Not as smooth as Christine's build, fit so far has been excellent. However, i ran myself into a bit of trouble with the upper and lower hulls... The reinforcement is too thick, got about .5cm if not more between the edges of the hulls, IF i use the upper reinforcements. I don't know how strong it will be when i leave that out. But it shouldn't be a big problem, I doubt my little nephew is going to play with it.

I did finish most of the other main parts, save for the nacelles, which I think will be the last to go on, before doing a detail pass or two. I am deviating abit from the instructions for the assembling of parts, as I made the neck reach down to the deck of the stern using part of the secondary hull. I'm planning on making the neck the last hull piece to go on the whole assembly.
