U.S.S. Kearsarge

Here's a ship that had been sitting on my desk for a long time. I finally completed it last week. It's the U.S.S. Kearsarge from Hawkman67 based on Rawen's design. I'm not sure I assembled it the way it was intended, but it's what I came up with. It's a straightforward Rawen-type build so I didn't chronicle it. I modified the design by adding a Paul McCool sensor pod at the dorsal and a Paul McCool wing pylon in place of the one included. I redid the hull registries, but messed up and printed them onto a Tug saucer bottom, which has the cut-out areas for the pylons. So, I just colored them red with a Sharpie.

Well, you got me. As I rarely take note of the category column, I expected this to be a model of the Civil War Kearsage -- the one that sank the CSS Alabama off the coast of France. But now that I'm over this self-imposed surprise, I'll happily compliment you on your modeling skills. Very nice model, indeed.

You, sir, are on a roll!!!! The models you are doing have been on my "back burner" so long as the pot is now "burnt"!!!!!

Keep up the good work.....Miss the build photos.....

Would love to see you build the Vinicio "Lost in Space" Jupiter II and the Space 1999 Withers/Robitaille Eagle.....Your build pictures are so good and help me really visualize the modeling and they show some helpful techniques!

The model is in the Sci-Fi section of the downloads here on the forum.. There are a few other starship kit bashes I have done besides this one that are there as well. They are all made using Rawen parts with a few of my own.
